Tom Loepp - Biography
I attended art classes at the Art Students League, New York City.
I've been commissioned to paint people of all ages, pets, wildlife, landscapes, industrial, murals,
from the roofs of buildings, from the tops of bridges, a chateau in France to gardens in Sicily.
My painting of the Brooklyn Bridge was included in the Centennial Exhibition of the Bridge at the Brooklyn Museum.
This painting was purchased by White and Case Law Offices.
My painting of "17th and 10th Avenue" was included in the exhibit:
"Painting New York" at the Museum of the City of New York.
The museum bought that painting for their collection.
I've had one-person exhibits at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City, SD: "The Zen of Chaos"
and at The Nicolaysen Art Museum, Casper, WY.
I was in the "Big as Life" art exhibit at the Lyme Art Association, Old Lyme, CT.
I was commissioned to paint Chief Justice William Rehnquist for the United States Supreme Court.
In 1988 during the renovation of the Brooklyn Bridge, I painted from the top of the Bridge,
paintings of the workers, and the renovation against the backdrop of New York City.
Peter B. Kaplan took photos of me painting on top of the bridge which were published.
I received a commission from McCarter and English Law Offices of Newark to paint three large panoramas,
one was a view of Jersey City in the winter snow as seen from the roof of the World Trade Center.
I spent two years painting on top of the World Trade Center.
I now reside in Wyoming and maintain a skylit studio in New York City.
